General Information
Starting out at Darlington Dam, a campsite located inside of Addo Elephant National Park. We spend two days camping out on the banks of the Darlington Dam. The Darlington region is home to an abundance of wildlife, we venture right into the heart of the park that the general public don’t have access to.
After which we transfer to Kazuko, which is home to the Big 5 and offers plenty of opportunities to see some incredible animals in their natural habitat.

Itinerary at best of Darlingtom Dam 2023 – Trip 1
Opening day of the trip which takes place on Wednesday (22 March Trip 1 or 29 March Trip 2)
11am: Registration opens at the Darlington Dam access gate. Click here for directions to the start
1pm: Sunset ride with some drinks out en route. We will do a short ride (+-10kms) and have some drinks out en route before we move back to the camp at Darlington.
The ride starts at 8 am.
61kms with 1050m of climbing.
This is a big day, we will always have a backup vehicle following us so you can jump in the game drive vehicle at any stage. There will be plenty of water and food with us at all times, so don’t hesitate, as the option to grab a drink / catch a ride is always there!

45kms with 670m of climbing
A “shorter” day but still tough. It’s a transfer day as we head out on our final ride in Nyathi. Upon arriving back at camp, grab a shower, and some lunch, pack your bags, and head for coffee (for your own account) at Kuzuko Lodge.
A quick chill at Kuzuko Lodge Reception before heading in convoy to our 2nd glamping village in Kuzuko, all cars can make it to our next campsite as it’s a gravel road all the way.

Our first ride in the pristine Kuzuko region. A tough opening start as we climb into the park, followed by a gentle middle section as we meander in search of some big 5. A sting in the tail as we head to our lunch spot at Kuzuko lodge followed by a mostly downhill run to the campsite.
The ride starts at 7 am
20kms with 550m of climbing
The final day and an earlier start as people need to get back on the road. We head along the river bank at Kuzuko and up the final challenging pass for the trip. Once we reach the summit it’s a downhill run home. Have a shower, grab your lunch pack and get on road by 12pm.

Cancellation Policy
A R 5000pp non-refundable deposit is required to confirm your entry, with the balance payable 2 months before the event date.
Riders wanting to cancel will forfeit the following part of their total entry fee.
25% of entry fee will be retained for admin costs and the balance refunded if written notice is received 4 months before event date.
50% of the entry fee will be refunded if written notice is received 3 months before the event date.
25% refund if written notice is received before 2 months before event date.
After 2 months to go, 0% will be refunded. Riders can at any time sell their entry and a substitution can be done at R300 per rider. The rider substituting will be given the merchandise size for the people whose entry they took over.
